Stove & Range Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair gas and electric ranges, cooktops, and wall ovens across the LA area, so call us with the brand and the symptom and we'll walk you through what a diagnosis involves. Stoves usually quit in small ways first. One burner clicks forever and never lights, or a coil element stays cold while its twin glows. An oven running 50 degrees off will burn cookies on the bottom and leave them raw on top. Behind all of that sit igniters, spark modules, infinite switches, thermostats, bake elements, and control boards. Our visit starts with questions, then testing: gas pressure, continuity, sensor resistance, before any part comes out. We work in houses, condos, and tight apartment kitchens on freestanding ranges and slide-ins, and we route around LA traffic so your window actually means something.

The stove & range symptoms we hear most

  • "It clicks and clicks but won't light" Clogged burner ports, a cracked spark electrode, or a spark module on its way out.
  • "Oven's on 350 but it bakes like 425" An oven sensor that has drifted, or a thermostat and control out of calibration.
  • "One electric element never heats up" Burned element, corroded receptacle, or a bad infinite switch.
  • "I smell gas near the stove" Loose fitting, worn valve seal, or a burner left unlit. Shut the gas off and call.
  • "Knobs turn but nothing responds" Failed control board, a touch panel locked out, or a tripped thermal fuse.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Make sure the range is plugged in all the way and its breaker hasn't tripped.
  • 2Check the display for a control lock or Sabbath mode icon, and clear it.
  • 3Pull the grates and burner caps and look at the little gas ports for boil-over blocking them.
  • 4On a coil-top range, wiggle the element in its socket and see if it seats and heats.

Stove & Range Repair — quick answers

My gas oven heats but the broiler doesn't. Same problem?

Usually not. Bake and broil often run separate igniters and separate burners, so one side can fail while the other keeps working. We test each circuit and igniter draw to see which side dropped out, then check the control that switches between them.

Can you work on a slide-in range in a condo?

Yes. Slide-ins and drop-ins sit tight against cabinets, so we protect the countertop edges and pull the unit slowly. If your HOA wants a service window or gate access noted, say so when you call us and we'll plan around it.

Is it worth repairing an older range?

Often, yes. Sturdy gas ranges especially, when the failure is an igniter, valve, or switch. We tell you what part failed and whether anything related looks worn, then you decide. No pressure either way.

Why does my oven take so long to preheat now?

On a gas oven, a weak igniter still draws enough current to glow but not enough to open the gas valve quickly. On electric, a partially failed bake element or a lazy sensor does the same thing. Both are testable.

Do you fix induction and glass cooktops?

We service induction, radiant glass, coil, and sealed gas cooktops. What we see most: error codes, cooling fan failures, cracked glass, dead zones from a bad generator board. Cracked glass gets replaced, not repaired.

Should I keep using the stove until you arrive?

If you smell gas, stop, shut the supply valve, and ventilate. If a burner sparks or the display flashes an error, leave it off. Another working burner elsewhere on the cooktop is generally fine to use in the meantime.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or type it into the form. Leaking, buzzing, not draining, a blinking code. We ask a few questions and write down your brand and model so the van gets loaded right.

  2. Step 2

    We pick a window

We build arrival windows around real traffic instead of wishful thinking. Tell us about gate codes, HOA elevator hours, or a tight parking situation, and we plan the route around it.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

The tech opens the machine, tests the part that failed, and tells you what he found in plain words. Nothing gets ordered or replaced until you approve it. Common parts ride along in the van.

Why homeowners call us

  • Stacked units and tight closetsApartment and condo laundry usually sits in a closet with two inches of clearance. We pull, service, and reset stacked washer-dryer sets without wrecking the drywall or the drain pan underneath.
  • Coastal air, valley heatNear the water, salt air rusts hinges and control boards. Inland, heat cooks compressors and dryer vents. So we check for the wear your zip code causes, not only the part you called about.
  • HOA-aware visitsBuildings have rules: loading dock windows, service elevators, insurance paperwork, quiet hours. We work inside those limits so your manager stays calm and the repair still happens on schedule.
  • Four states, one callCalifornia, Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon. Same intake, same questions, same plain talk about the repair. One number to remember when the second home or the rental unit acts up.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major appliance brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent shop.
  • Straight answersIf replacing beats repairing, you hear it from us first.
