The independent appliance repair shop across the West Coast
Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — Book a Visit Today
We clean and repair dryer vents across LA, including houses, condos, and second-floor apartments. Lint builds up where you can't see it: inside the duct, behind the drum, up through the wall or roof. Airflow drops, the dryer runs hot and cycles long, and the fire risk climbs. In older LA buildings the duct may run twenty feet before it ever reaches daylight. Crushed flex hose behind a stacked closet unit is common too. A visit starts with airflow at the hood, then a look at the full duct path. We clean the line, clear the blower housing, and repair or replace crushed, disconnected, or wrong-material duct. Loose hoods and missing flappers get handled the same trip. Call us and tell us your building type.

The dryer vent cleaning & symptoms we hear most
- Towels take three cycles now Restricted airflow from lint-packed duct or a long, kinked run
- The laundry room feels like a sauna Duct disconnected inside the wall or venting into the cavity
- Something smells scorched when it runs Lint against the heating element or blower housing
- Dryer shuts off partway through Thermal cutoff tripping on high heat from blocked exhaust
- Lint is blowing out around the door Back pressure pushing air the wrong direction through the cabinet
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Pull the lint screen and rinse it. Dryer sheets leave a film that blocks air you can't see.

Herb W.Anaheim, CA“They said morning, they meant morning. The quote said one number, the card ran that number.”
Faye D.Stockton, CADryer Vent Cleaning & Repair — quick answers
How often should the vent be cleaned?
Once a year suits most households. Bigger families, pets, or a duct run over fifteen feet may need it sooner. If a normal load suddenly needs a second cycle, that's your signal regardless of the calendar.
My unit is stacked in a closet. Can you still service it?
Yes. Stacked and closet installs are routine here. We pull the unit forward, clean the duct behind it, and check the transition hose for crushing, which is the most common problem in tight apartment laundry spaces.
Does the HOA need to approve anything?
Interior duct cleaning usually doesn't. Work on a shared roof or exterior wall hood often does. Tell us your building setup when you call us and we'll flag anything likely to need board or manager sign-off.
Is flexible foil duct okay to use?
Thin foil and plastic flex trap lint and crush easily. Rigid or semi-rigid metal moves air better and is what most codes want. We swap failing flex when we find it during a vent visit.
Can a blocked vent damage the dryer itself?
It can. Trapped heat stresses the thermostat, thermal fuse, and heating element. Many no-heat calls trace back to a clogged vent that killed a fuse. Clearing the duct protects parts you'd otherwise be replacing.
What about salt air near the coast?
Exterior hoods corrode faster in beach neighborhoods. Flappers seize open or rust shut, and birds nest inside. We check the termination point outside, not just the duct inside, and replace hardware that's given out.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call us or type it into the form. Leaking, buzzing, not draining, a blinking code. We ask a few questions and write down your brand and model so the van gets loaded right.
- Step 2
We pick a window
We build arrival windows around real traffic instead of wishful thinking. Tell us about gate codes, HOA elevator hours, or a tight parking situation, and we plan the route around it.
- Step 3
Diagnose, then repair
The tech opens the machine, tests the part that failed, and tells you what he found in plain words. Nothing gets ordered or replaced until you approve it. Common parts ride along in the van.

Why homeowners call us
- Stacked units and tight closetsApartment and condo laundry usually sits in a closet with two inches of clearance. We pull, service, and reset stacked washer-dryer sets without wrecking the drywall or the drain pan underneath.
- Coastal air, valley heatNear the water, salt air rusts hinges and control boards. Inland, heat cooks compressors and dryer vents. So we check for the wear your zip code causes, not only the part you called about.
- HOA-aware visitsBuildings have rules: loading dock windows, service elevators, insurance paperwork, quiet hours. We work inside those limits so your manager stays calm and the repair still happens on schedule.
- Four states, one callCalifornia, Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon. Same intake, same questions, same plain talk about the repair. One number to remember when the second home or the rental unit acts up.
- All major brands, gas & electricEvery major appliance brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent shop.
- Straight answersIf replacing beats repairing, you hear it from us first.
