Why does my dryer take three cycles to dry a load?
Almost always airflow. Lint builds in the vent, the exhaust hood flap sticks, or the transition hose is crushed against a wall. Heat also drops when an element partly fails. We measure airflow and heat together so the real cause is clear.
Is a burning smell an emergency?
Treat it that way. Stop the cycle, unplug it or shut the gas valve, and leave the door open. Lint near a hot element or a blocked exhaust can ignite. Then call us and tell us what you smelled.
Can you work on stacked washer-dryer units?
Yes. Stacked and closet-tucked laundry is common in LA apartments and condos. We unstack carefully, protect flooring and door frames, and reset the pair square. If your HOA needs advance notice or an elevator reservation, tell us when you book.
Do you handle both gas and electric dryers?
Both. Electric failures lean toward heating elements, thermal fuses, and 240-volt supply issues. Gas failures usually involve igniters, flame sensors, or valve coils. The diagnostic path differs, so mention which type you have when you call.
Should I repair or replace a ten-year-old dryer?
Depends on the part and the cabinet. Rollers, belts, fuses, and igniters are routine repairs on older machines. A rusted-through drum or a cracked bulkhead is a different conversation. We tell you honestly what we find before any work begins.
Does salt air near the beach affect dryers?
It can. Coastal humidity and salt speed up corrosion on terminals, ground straps, and exhaust hardware. Vents also stay damp longer, so lint cakes instead of blowing out. Inland valley heat causes different stress, mostly on overworked motors and thermostats.
